The German capital, Berlin, on Wednesday witnessed a mass rally near the British Embassy marking the 109th anniversary of the issuance of the Balfour Declaration, in solidarity with the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples, and in rejection of the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip and the starvation, displacement and violations that accompany it in the Palestinian territories and Lebanon.

Participants raised slogans condemning the continuation of the war on Gaza and demanding an end to what they described as the crime of genocide and the starvation of the population. They also expressed their rejection of the plans attributed to US President Donald Trump regarding the future of the Strip, warning that they could lead to the displacement of Palestinians and the liquidation of their cause.

The rally also addressed the ongoing Israeli attacks in the West Bank and the strikes on Lebanon, while declaring solidarity with Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails and demanding an end to the supplying of arms to Israel.

The area around the British Embassy was chosen as the site of the rally in the context of commemorating the Balfour Declaration, issued on 2 November 1917, in which the British government pledged to support the establishment of a "national home for the Jewish people" in Palestine — a historic juncture tied to the developments of the Palestinian cause.

The event concluded with slogans affirming the continuation of the Palestinian struggle, rejecting the continuation of the occupation, and calling for solidarity with the Palestinian people and their rights.
