Hazem Qassem to FiMED: The occupation is systematically breaching the truce and the Board of Peace is powerless
Qassem said Hamas is moving on several tracks to confront the violations, foremost among them continuous diplomatic contact with the mediators to pressure the occupation to abide by the terms of the agreement.

Hamas spokesman Hazem Qassem said the Israeli occupation is pursuing a systematic and consistent policy of violating the ceasefire agreement reached in Sharm el-Sheikh about ten months ago, stressing that the violations began on the agreement's first day and escalated to the point where scenes of genocide have resumed in the Gaza Strip.
In an exclusive statement to FiMED, Qassem said the occupation has continued to kill women and children, target civilians, and bomb and destroy homes, while restricting the entry of aid and closing the crossings, despite "the full commitment of Hamas and the resistance factions" to the agreement.
He explained that the movement keeps the mediators informed on a daily, ongoing basis through documented reports on the occupation's violations, which are submitted to all parties concerned. He stressed that Israel continues these violations relying on US support and on what he described as "the reassuring silence of the Board of Peace, which amounts to complicity in these crimes," as well as the mediators' inability to compel the occupation to implement what was agreed.
Qassem said Hamas is moving on several tracks to confront the violations, foremost among them continuous diplomatic contact with the mediators to pressure the occupation to abide by the terms of the agreement, alongside the mediators' efforts with the US administration to urge it to press Israel, given that the peace plan originated with the US administration and bears the name of President Donald Trump.
He added that the movement is also continuing its media and political efforts to explain the violations and expose the occupation's repeated breaches of the ceasefire agreement, stressing that the diplomatic effort is continuing in parallel with these moves.
Qassem criticised the performance of the "Board of Peace," saying it has a "central problem": one of its core components is biased toward the Israeli narrative. He pointed to positions taken by Jared Kushner, Steve Witkoff and Tom Barrack, which he said adopt the Israeli view of developments in the war and the agreement.
He said the board is "unable or unwilling to pressure the occupation" to abide by what was agreed and stop its violations, citing what happened after a 15-point roadmap was reached: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu explicitly announced his rejection of it, after which, according to Qassem, the pace of daily attacks on the ground increased.
The Hamas spokesman stressed that the responsibility remains with the Board of Peace to act and compel the occupation to implement the agreement and stop its violations, calling on the Arab, Islamic and friendly countries taking part in the board to adopt a clear and decisive position and not allow Israel to continue its violations under the board's umbrella or to manipulate its decisions.
Since the ceasefire took effect in Gaza in October 2025, Israeli violations have continued through air strikes, gunfire and restrictions on Palestinians' movement and on the entry of aid, while the United Nations has documented the killing of hundreds of Palestinians, including women and children, since the truce began. Restrictions on aid access and humanitarian operations have also continued. Hamas accuses Israel of continuing to violate the agreement with US backing, while criticising the mediators and the Board of Peace for not exerting enough pressure to compel it to implement its terms.
